About Kayla

Kayla McKinnon is a passionate and dedicated lawyer who practices primarily in the areas of family law and wills and estates. She joined Nychuk & Company in 2015 as a summer student and returned in 2017 as an articling student after graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with a Juris Doctor degree. She was called to the bar in 2018 and has been a valuable member of the firm ever since.

 

Kayla has appeared before the Provincial Court, the Court of King’s Bench, and the Court of Appeal. She has experience in representing clients on a variety of matters, including divorce, custody, access, child support, spousal support, property division, and estate administration. She has assisted numerous clients with preparing separation agreements, cohabitation agreements, prenuptial agreements, wills, powers of attorney, health care directives, probate applications, and administration applications. She is committed to providing her clients with compassionate and professional legal advice and advocacy. She strives to find creative and cost-effective solutions for her clients’ legal issues, whether through negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

 

Kayla is also an active member of the legal community and the community at large. She has volunteered for Pro Bono Students Canada, Legal Follies, and the Saskatchewan Baton Twirling Association. She is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers’ Association. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her achievements as an internationally-competitive baton twirler, representing Canada in several world championships and international cups. She continues to be involved in baton twirling as a coach.

 

Kayla enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending spin classes, travelling, and reading. She is always eager to learn new things and take on new challenges. She looks forward to meeting you and assisting you with your legal needs.
