Recognizing Dave’s Dedication to the Community
We are proud to share that Dave was recently nominated for the Victor P. Dietz K.C. Pro Bono Service Award, presented annually by the Law Society of Saskatchewan and Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan (PBLS). This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to pro bono services in Saskatchewan by:
- Delivering pro bono legal services;
- Establishing pro bono programs;
- Coordinating pro bono services; and
- Advocating for and promoting a pro bono culture.
The honour of being nominated is a testament to his dedication, compassion, and expertise in family law. As a senior family law lawyer and arbitrator, called to the bar in 1995, Dave has been a pillar of support for PBLS since 2019, when it established the free walk-in family law clinic at the Regina Public Library. Dave immediately stepped forward to volunteer, offering expert legal advice to those navigating challenging family law matters. He has consistently dedicated his time to six clinics a year, balancing this volunteer work with his thriving legal practice and personal life.
In addition to his extensive legal experience, Dave’s training in collaborative law brings an invaluable perspective to his volunteer work. Clients and PBLS staff have shared that Dave provides excellent legal advice delivered with empathy and compassion, creating a positive and impactful experience for everyone he helps.
Dave’s unwavering commitment to serving others has made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many. This nomination highlights the respect and admiration Dave has earned within the legal community and beyond.
