About David

David is a senior family lawyer at Nychuk & Company. After obtaining degrees in Administration and in Law in 1994, he started practicing law in 1995. He has since gained extensive experience in resolving family law matters through negotiation, arbitration and litigation. He has been ranked by a peer survey of other family law lawyers as a Leading Practitioner in Family Law in the 2023 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.

David understands that family law matters can be complex, emotional and stressful. He is committed to providing his clients with compassionate, practical and effective legal advice and representation. David has completed training in collaborative law and arbitration, focused on achieving a positive result for families without adversarial court proceedings. 

He strives to help his clients achieve their goals and protect their interests in a respectful and cost-efficient manner. When litigation is required, David has extensive experience at all levels of court in Saskatchewan. He has also been a volunteer with the family law free clinic offered through Pro Bono Law of Saskatchewan since 2019.

David has a wealth of knowledge in all areas of family law, including separation and divorce, custody and access, child support, spousal support, division of family property, including farm and business assets, Common law relationships, Cohabitation and prenuptial agreements.

David is also a skilled arbitrator who can assist parties in resolving their family law disputes without going to court. In 2010 he completed arbitration training through the ADR Institute of Canada.  He obtained Qualified Arbitrator status in 2018, and since 2019 has been acknowledged as a Family Arbitrator by the Ministry of Justice of the Government of Saskatchewan. He conducts arbitrations on a wide range of non-family law issues, and family law issues including custody, access, support, property division and contracts.
